Good fun

August 21st, 2008

Ron T’s was a lot of fun - apparently I’m a total loud mouth, and even though Kelly argued against my position as a libertarian, she still thinks taxes are dumb. If you came, then you probably had fun; if you didn’t, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy our company next time.

PS Isabelle I’m not shipping out to sea, but we can still drink like sailors!

Pizza dash - Ron T’s Canadian Pie

August 6th, 2008

Hey Canucks!

Sorry that I’ve flaked out and haven’t posted anything in the last little while… I’ve been busy as heck with work and partying (I do both pretty hard). The buzz is that there’s going to be a Canadian party at Ron Teleski’s Pizza Parlour on August 20th at 7:00 pm. I’ll be there for sure!

Alles gute Canada!

Happy Canada Day, you crazy Canucks!

Brennan’s Canada D’Eh Party

June 28th, 2008
I’ve taken the liberty of posting Brennan’s big Canada Day bash here… If you want directions, then get in touch with one of us to find out exactly where it is:

Since Canada Day falls on a Tuesday this year, and celebrating it requires more rye whiskey than the Wednesday work day would allow, we are having the party on Saturday (05.06.08).

Our place is easy to find: closest U-Bahn is Rosenthaler Platz and the M1 goes right by the front door (every #!@&^@ 5 minutes).

We are going to provide the food but please don’t expect a sit-down 5 course dinner - expect something more in the nature of finger food. Would be swell if someone could bring some munchings and crunchings to fill in the gaps.

My Itunes also tells me that I have about 16 hours of excellent Canadian music so we can also play Name That Canadian Tune if anyone wants. Otherwise I will just play in my head.

It is of course a BYOB.

Please RSVP so we can warn the neighbours accordingly.

Canadians in Berlin Meetup June 20, 2008

June 12th, 2008
June 2008 Monthly Canadians in Berlin meetup
When
June 20th 2008 at 7pm
Location
Dieffenbachstraße 62
Berlin
This place has Reeses peanut butter cups and great pizza. You can sit in a canoe to eat your pizza too if you’re so inclined. This is where we went the last time but it was soooooo good I thought we could go again and plus that was a month ago so…. However, as usual, I am open to other suggestions.
Someone had suggested a boat in Kreuzberg but to do that I need help with names of places and also since it’s gotten a bit colder I thought we could go there in July instead (when hopefully summer will have returned).
You can find full details of the meetup at:
P.S. No one has RSVPd yes for this meetup yet… please don’t leave me to sit alone in my canoe :-)

Hey all,

With regard to Kelly’s email, here’s the link for registering with DFAIT in Berlin. I registered a while ago (a year ago?), and you probably should, too.

St-Jean Baptiste Day

June 10th, 2008

This is a special event for St-Jean Baptiste Day! Vive le Québec!

This is, however, not just for Québequers. The event will be in a park where we can have a small campfire (in lieu of the usual bonfire), drink beer, listen to music, etc. An outdoor party, basically!

If anyone knows where we could do this I would appreciate suggestions.

I say: Sounds good. I remember lots of drunk Quebecers out west on St-Jean Baptiste Day, and I always wanted to know what the heck it’s all about, so sure, count me in! I guess more details about this party will develop as we get closer to the actual date…

Last Sunday was a great party! Head injuries, bike accidents, Canadians, and too much pasta salad make a great combination… Down to business: People showed interest in playing along with Canadiansinberlin.com, so here’s what to do:

Just let me know, I’ll set you up with an account, and then all you need to do is log in, write whatever is on your mind, and share it with the rest of us. The Wordpress interface is super easy and intuitive, so everyone who participates shouldn’t have too much trouble getting the hang of it.

I’ll have to upload pictures onto my server though, so email those to me and I’ll just put them in a folder and tell you the URL so you can add them to your posts. That will be a little inconvenient at the beginning, but eventually we’ll move to a PHP forum platform and it will be a snap.

Cheers!
